Hello again! It’s Christine Cousart, back with another entry on my journey and the unique blend of art and technology at Copper Coin Web Design. This time, I want to take you back to where it all really began for me—growing up in New Zealand.
My early years were spent in a bustling household, with my parents engaged in major projects that often drew them away. Eventually, we moved to the United States with only one suitcase each, embarking on a new chapter in Los Angeles. The transition was quite a shock for a small-town girl like me, suddenly thrust into the world of valley girls at Chatsworth High School. Yes, I can talk like a valley girl….like you know, like, like, like, that’s what they said all of the time…LIKE! Regardless, what defined me during those years was my love for art.
I vividly remember my first oil painting at the age of eight. That experience opened my heart to the world of colors and creativity. Awarded a scholarship to a summer program at Cal State University, thanks to my dedicated art teacher, I later trained privately under Professor Pellegrino who was at Jacksonville University for many years and who focused heavily on abstract expressionism. Balancing life with raising kids, I chose to pursue my passion for painting by being privately tutored by Professor Pellegrino in the evening time.
Even today, I continue to paint, accepting commissions whenever I can. Why share this part of my story? Because designing a website is not merely a technical task—it’s an artistic endeavor. Knowing how to harmonize colors, select the right images, and create a focal point on a webpage are crucial skills rooted in art. Every web design is a canvas, and understanding elements like repetition, line movement, and emphasis turns a simple site into a compelling visual experience.
Now, with tools like Figma, we’re soaring into an exhilarating era of web design. Figma allows us to craft dynamic graphic movements, adding another layer of creativity and engagement to our projects. The future of web design is incredibly exciting, blending technology with artistry to craft unforgettable online experiences.
Choosing an artist to design your website offers a distinct advantage. Art goes beyond aesthetics; it captures emotion, communicates visually, and creates a cohesive brand story. At Copper Coin Web Design, we bring this artistic perspective to life, ensuring your website not only functions flawlessly but also resonates aesthetically.
So, if you’re ready to experience the unique touch that an artistic eye can bring to your web presence, let’s talk. Whether you’re reimagining your current site or starting from scratch, our team is here to transform your vision into a stunning reality.
Until next time, keep embracing creativity in all its forms!
Christine
This is the original bridge and it was taken by me during the time of my art gallery, Cousart, Studios of Fine Art and Photography. The bridge has since been remodeled into a new structure that looks very similar to this original structure.
This is one of my current paintings. I would say it’s not yet quite finished. Being from New Zealand, the green lip muscle is a great favorite of mine, especially if they are fresh right from the beach
